My First Post - Getting Ready for Spring

As a work-at-home mom to four, getting ready in the mornings has to be quick and easy. And my outfits? They need to be comfy, and something I can move around easily in. There's nothing like chasing around your baby in a skirt that keeps creeping up. As tempted as I am to simply throw on my favorite pair of yoga pants and my go-to Target tee (which I have in about every color) every morning, I'm now attempting to get it together. Or at least look like I've got it together.

Hence this blog. This blog is my {creative} way of holding myself accountable everyday.

Over six months ago I started working from home and I found it super glorious that I could literally roll out of bed wearing the yoga pants I already had on for PJs from the night before and start my day. If you told me then that I might miss wearing normal clothes on a daily basis, I would have told you that you were crazy. But it's true. I miss clothes. And I kind of miss having somewhere to wear them! I've started this blog as an excuse to wear real clothes again and and as a way to find my own mommy style. After hitting the big three-oh (30), I realized it might be time to move on from the old tees and jeans trick.

With that, I bring you this blog's first outfit!

Denim/Chambray Top: Target (similar) | Maxi Skirt: Target (similar) | Mint Sandals: Target (similar) | Bangles: Target (similar) | Necklace: Target

#TargetStyle - Am I right? I think you will find as time goes on that I am a huge Target fan!

This particular outfit is super comfy! As ready as I am for warmer weather, I love this spring style for its comfortable layers. And it wouldn't be spring without a splash of color, so I've gathered up a few mint accessories to jazz things up a bit. It's a bit chilly here yet, although there are no complaints from me because the snow has finally melted. Yay!

Leave a comment and let me know what colors you are digging for spring!

  1. Welcome to blogging! It's fun, and really is such a great creative outlet. As is putting together cute outfits... love that you've done the chambray unbuttoned with a maxi skirt. Super practical and comfortable but still polished and cute! Love the mint too.

  2. I am in the same boat! I've been working from home for over a year and half and it took me a long time to realize the importance of getting dressed everyday (although I was pregnant for 9-10 months of that so I feel like either way I wouldn't have gotten dressed).

I have since changed my attitude and I try to out on real clothes every day! I do let myself wear yoga pants on Monday though because Mondays are hard enough as it is ;)

    Welcome to blogging land!

  3. I love layers too! And I like the pop of color you added here, very much like mint as an added touch. I'm currently loving gold as accessory colors. Found you through the chambray linkup, and I really like your style, can't wait to see what else you got!
